The Grape Harvest can be hard on dogs

The grape harvest begins this month in our area.
Those of us who walk our dogs in “the campo” need to be aware of the danger that grapes pose to some dogs.

Dogs can suffer renal failure after eating grapes (or raisins ). There is some mystery about the precise component of grapes, but studies indicate that the toxic element is in the flesh of the grape.
Some dog foods contain “grape pomace” which is the dried & extracted grape skin and seed. It is rich in anti-oxidants and support the immune system. Very healthy!
